BETHESDA, Md.—The Auto Care Association (ACA) and the California Automotive Wholesalers' Association (CAWA) will co-host a webinar May 22 on the updated regulations of California's Proposition 65.
The revisions to Proposition 65 — which cover labeling of chemicals — take effect Aug. 31, the ACA said.
The webinar, "California's Prop. 65: Technical and Legal Compliance Requirements You Need to Know," will take place from 1 to 2:30 p.m., the ACA said.
The California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment has named more than 900 chemicals, including ingredients or additives in a variety of household products, food, pesticides and other products, as caution-causing chemicals, the ACA said.
The new Proposition 65 protocols will require businesses to identify at least one listed chemical that could be encountered in their products, it said.
Among the topics addressed in the webinar will be:
- Why Proposition 65 matters to your business;
- Warning regulations and requirements for manufacturers, distributors and retailers; and
- The enforcement process and penalties for the revised protocols.
Kevin Mayer, a partner in the law firm Crowell & Moring L.L.P., will be the presenter. The webinar will include several breaks for participants to ask questions specific to their businesses, the ACA said.
Space for the webinar is limited, the ACA said. To register, click here. For more information, contact Tom Tucker at 240-333-1042 or [email protected].
