GREATER NOIDA CITY, India — MRL Tyres Ltd. has opened a second warehouse in India, a 170,000-sq.-ft. facility in Greater Noida City about 16 miles southeast of New Delhi.

"The opening of the dedicated distribution center is another example of MRL Tyres commitment to meet the growing consumer demand for our tires across 90 countries with faster and timely deliveries," said Monit Malhotra, director of MRL Tyres, formerly Malhotra Rubbers Ltd.

The facility, which opened in April, can store 70,000 tires, according to MRL, and it includes 10 loading docks and eight unloading docks. Twenty-five employees are working at the facility

The warehouse will house tires that will serve both the domestic and import markets. MRL said it customer bases includes more than 90 countries.

MRL manufactures agricultural, industrial and other OTR-related tires. It has 1,700 SKUs, the company said, and is adding a new SKU every third day, according to Mr. Malhotra.

MRL, which opened a sales office last year in Dallas to serve the U.S. market, has expanded capacity at its plant in Greater Noida City over the past two years, according to Mr. Malhotra, providing more sizes for export. MRL added capacity for earthmover and loader tires in 2017 and is in the process of expanding its range of sizes for radial ag tires.

The company has a set goal to increase capacity by 33 percent by year-end. In 2017, Mr. Malhotra said approximately 7 percent of revenues were allocated on the research and development, separate from investments made to expand capacity.

"Capacity expansion and its investment are ongoing process," Mr. Malhotra said.
