SHOW LOW, Ariz. — William “Bill” Ray Young Jr., former owner of Young's Future Tire Inc. in Show Low, died April 25 at age 76.
Mr. Young worked in the automotive industry nearly his entire adult life, starting at the automotive center at Rayco Automotive Group in Phoenix, where he met and married his wife, Karen Ruth Eggestein, in 1966.
Mr. Young and his wife then moved to El Paso, Texas, to work at Globe Discount Stores Automotive Center, then they moved to San Antonio while Mr. Young still worked at Globe Discount.
The couple moved to Mr. Young's native Arizona in 1983. Two years later they bought Future Tire in Show Low and renamed it Young's Future Tire.
Mr. Young grew the business to four locations in Arizona's White Mountains area east of Pheonix before retiring and turning the business over to his son, William Troy Young, and daughter, Catherine Lee Huling.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; son Bill (Diane) Young; daughter Cathy (Wyatt) Huling; brother Larry (Barbara) Young; sisters Swanee (Ron) Rickard and Carol; and five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life is scheduled for July 14, which would have been his 77th birthday.
