TOKYO — BMW A.G. has selected 19-inch versions of the Yokohama Advan Sport V105 performance tire as OE fitments on the M5 luxury/performance version of its 5-series mid-size sedan range.
The latest M5 features BMW's xDrive all-wheel-drive system and is powered by a twin turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 engine producing 600 hp. Power is transmitted through an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission.
The Yokohama fitments are 275/40ZR19 (105Y) front and 285/40ZR19 rear, mounted to polished 19-inch light-alloy wheels.
BMW also lists 20-inch optional fitments for the M5.
Yokohama describes the Advan Sport V105 as a high-performance tire developed primarily for use on high-power premium automobiles, delivering "excellent" driving performance combined with superior comfort and safety characteristics.
The tires being supplied for the BMW M5 were developed jointly with BMW and bear the German auto maker's star marking of approval on the sidewall, Yokohama said.
BMW also fits the Advan Sport V105 on the BMW X3, which debuted in November 2017.
