WASHINGTON — The U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association (USTMA) has hired Kimberly Kleine, a private and public affairs specialist with experience in both the public and private sectors, as vice president of public affairs.
Ms. Kleine has nearly 30 years' experience in policy, public affairs and executive leadership, most recently as managing director of Burson-Marsteller L.L.C's Healthcare Practice, the USTMA said.
Before that, Ms. Kleine held numerous leadership roles at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, including the Office of the Secretary, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and the Health Resources and Services Administration.
She also consulted for several firms at the global PR firm Ketchum Inc., worked as a producer at CNN, and worked in the investigative unit of ABC TV's Primetime Live, according to the USTMA.
She will be handling most of the duties previously handled by Dan Zielinski, who was senior vice president, public affairs, from 2000-2018.
"We are excited to have Kim Kleine join USTMA," USTMA President and CEO Anne Forristall Luke said. "Kim's experience, energy and vision will be a great asset to our team, our members and the tire manufacturing industry."
Ms. Kleine is a graduate of Bucknell University, the USTMA said. She also attended the Wharton School for Business Writers at the University of Pennsylvania and the Federal Executive Institute in Charlottesville, Va.
