ATLANTA, Ga. — Kumho Tire USA Inc. has hired tire industry veteran Shawn Denlein to be its executive vice president of sales and marketing.

Mr. Denlein joins Kumho after only 13 months with Monro Inc., where he was senior vice president of tire merchandising.

Mr. Denlein's hiring follows the departure in January of Jim Mayfield, senior executive vice president of sales, who left Kumho to join Giti Tire (USA) Ltd.

Prior to joining Monro in early 2017, Mr. Denlein was senior vice president at Hankook Tire America Inc. for four years and held various sales positions at Yokohama Tire Corp. for four years. His industry experience totals more than 24 years, Kumho said.

Kumho Tire USA CEO and President Harry Choi noted Mr. Denlein's "wealth of knowledge and experience" and said Kumho has "high expectations but no doubt that he will be able to excel in his new role.

"Kumho Tire has been steadily recruiting talent with extensive experience and knowledge of the tire industry," Mr Choi said, "in order to improve operations, increase OE supply opportunities and to stabilize the company and improve operations across the board."

Mr. Denlein will oversee the marketing and sales force and boost collaboration between the two departments, be responsible for replacement market growth and lead Kumho's sales force.

"I am excited to join Kumho Tire and lead the sales and marketing teams," Mr. Denlein said. "Kumho is well recognized in the industry with top performing products and innovative technology. I am looking forward to applying the knowledge gained over my career in the tire industry to drive growth and profitability for Kumho,"
