BOWIE, Md. — The Tire Industry Association (TIA) and Michelin North America Inc. have selected three women, daughters of employees of TIA member companies, as winners of the 2018 Michelin/TIA Scholarship Awards.
The scholarship recipients will split $6,250 in scholarship awards.
They were selected for their academic and extracurricular achievements, as well as their standing as the dependent children of TIA members. TIA and Michelin said.
The winners are:
- Averie Hebdon, a graduate of Spring Creek High School in Spring Creek, Nev., and daughter of Chad Hebdon, who works for Purcell Tire & Service Centers. She plans to study veterinary technology at Great Basin College in Elko, Nev.
- Chenhoo Ma, a graduate of Olentangy Liberty High School in Powell, Ohio, and daughter of Angela Chen, who works for American Kenda Rubber. She plans to study integrated business and engineering at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.
- Sarah Pogash, a graduate of Upper Perkiomen High School in Red Hill, Pa., and daughter of Thomas Pogash, who works for Service Tire Truck Centers. She plans to study chemistry at St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia.
