HANNOVER, Germany — Global Rubber Industries Pvt. Ltd. (GRI) will debut three materials-handling tires — Globestar WT, XPT SS and LIFTEX — during CeMAT Germany 2018, which runs April 23-27 in Hannover.

The Colombo, Sri Lanka-based tire maker said the new Globestar WT marks the next generation of its flagship brand. Because of its wide tread and flat crown radius, the Globestar WT offers improved tread life and stability, while also allowing for high load carrying capacity.

GRI claims the tire is one of the widest in the industry, with deep lugs to ensure traction and stability in normal working environments. The solid tire is built with natural rubber components for resilience and high tensile strength, and was designed with feedback from customers to ensure that it meets industry needs, GRI said.

GRI describes the XPT SS as the "ultimate skid-steer tire," noting it was developed to provide performance as well as machine stability. Its extra-deep directional tread and curved lugs that provide traction and durability, GRI said. The extra thick sidewall, meanwhile, reduces stress cracking and deflects debris, protecting the pneumatic tire from puncture.

Liftex, designed for heavy-duty use on forklifts, has a large footprint and a lug pattern intended to provide grip in a range of conditions. The tire's sturdy sidewalls, which are reinforced with multiple layers and a wide rim guard, combine with the large footprint and contact area to allow for high load carrying capacity.

Established in 2002, GRI operates two plants in Sri Lanka — one for solid tires and one for pneumatics — and distributes in more than 50 countries across the globe. It operates sales offices in the U.S., Europe and Asia.
