MERRIMACK, N.H. — Sales software developer ASA Automotive Systems is planning to offer Tiremetrix L.L.C.'s Tire Registration Plus system as an additional component to its TireMaster point-of-sale software under a new partnership agreement.

This arrangement will help TireMaster users by making the tire registration process more efficient with Tiremetrix's simple Department of Transportation tire ID validation, recall search and age checks, ASA said.

"Using Tire Registration Plus, our dealers will be able to easily capture tire registration data car-side and at the point-of-sale," ASA Executive Vice President Dave Vogel said, "and automatically transmit the information to the tire manufacturer, making compliance quick, convenient and accurate."

The Tiremetrix data will be reflected immediately in inventory reports as well as in customer, vehicle and sales records within TireMaster, Mr. Vogel added.

The Tire Registration Plus platform "is designed to help dealers overcome the challenges of complying with federal tire registration regulations, allowing them to focus on selling products and servicing cars," Tiremetrix President Joe Donehue said.

The Tiremetrix platform makes it easy to identify recalled tires during routine tire inspection, Mr. Donehue added, and the software's advanced reporting functionality will help dealers identify exactly which customers are affected by a recall in a matter of seconds, eliminating the inconvenience of over-recalling non-affected customers.

Putting accurate registration records in the hands of tire manufacturers should lead to higher tire recall recovery rates and safer roads for all, Mr. Donehue said.

ASA said the partnership with Tiremetrix will allow it to integrate Tire Registration Plus into TireMaster in order to ensure the data collected transfers seamlessly into TireMaster. ASA said it intends to offer this integration to existing TireMaster customers as an optional "add-on" feature.

ASA did not comment on how this added feature will affect pricing.
