COMPTON, Calif. — 4 Wheel Parts has opened its 88th and 89th off-road performance product sales and installation locations in North America, in Naperville, Ill., and Glen Burnie, Md.

The Naperville location is the second 4 Wheel Parts store to open in the Chicago area this year, while the Glen Burnie location is the business' first in Maryland and second in the mid-Atlantic states.

The Naperville location opened March 17, while the Glen Burnie store is celebrating its grand opening this weekend, April 14.

Both stores are remodels of existing retail space. In Naperville the site previously housed Allstar Windshield Centers, while in Glen Burnie the site previously operated as Salvo Auto Parts.

Naperville Store Manager Austin Curran said the new store complements the South Elgin location, which "has been incredibly well received."

Naperville is a western suburb of Chicago, with a population exceeding 140,000. South Elgin is a community of about 22,000 located roughly 20 miles north of Naperville.

4 Wheel Parts opened three stores in February, including the South Elgin location. The others are in Carlisle, Pa., and Beaumont, Texas.

The Glen Burnie and Carlisle locations are the first of a number of stores projected to open in the region. They will be supported by a 205,000-sq.-ft. warehouse/distribution facility in Carlisle that opened in January.

Glen Burnie Store Manager Jose Pastrana noted the city's close proximity to many popular off-roading destinations makes it an "ideal location from which to serve our customers throughout the region."

4 Wheel Parts did not disclose the new stores' sizes or staffing levels.

The Glen Burnie grand opening runs 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the store, located at 6715-B Ritchie Highway, Glen Burnie, Md.

Compton-based 4 Wheel Parts is a subsidiary of Polaris Industries Inc. The business sells and installs tires, wheels, parts and accessories for trucks, Jeeps, SUVs and off-road vehicles.

Among the tire brands carried are BFGoodrich, Dick Cepek, Goodyear, Maxxis, Mickey Thompson, Nitto, Super Swamper, Toyo and the company's proprietary Pro Comp private brand.
