AKRON — Goodyear has hired Nicholas Mitchell, managing director of Northcoast Research Partners, to be its senior director of investor relations.
Mr. Mitchell will assume many of the duties previously handled by Christina Zamarro, who has taken on expanded responsibilities as vice president of corporate financial planning and analysis and investor relations in the wake of the recent retirement of Marc Voorhees, Goodyear said.
Laura Thompson, Goodyear's executive vice president and chief financial officer, said Mr. Mitchell "combines extensive knowledge of the automotive and tire industries, with excellent fundamental research and analytical skills."
He has been with Cleveland-based Northcoast Research Partners since 2009, providing equity research for institutional investors on publicly traded companies in the automotive aftermarket, tire manufacturing, rent-to-own and discount retail industries, Goodyear said.
Prior to working at Northcoast Research, Mr. Mitchell held investment analyst and research positions with Ardor Capital, FTN Midwest Research Securities Corp. and McDonald Investments.
Mr. Voorhees retired in March after 17-plus years at Goodyear, including nearly nine years as vice president, corporate financial and strategic planning.
