NASHVILLE, Tenn.— Hankook Tire America Corp. has added the Kinergy ST (H735) all-season touring tire, which the tire maker said was designed for long tread life and smooth handling, to its Kinergy portfolio.
According to Hankook, the product replaces both the Optimo H725 and Optimo H724. This is the third model in the Kinergy product lineup, joining the Kinergy PT premium touring all-season and Kinergy GT premium grand-touring all-season tires for the replacement market.
The tire has a 70,000-mile warranty that includes road-hazard coverage, and Hankook offers a 30-day free trial for guaranteed customer satisfaction.
According to Hankook, the new tire features a dual-filler system that accounts for low rolling resistance and improved treadlife, while offering tread block stiffness that enhances durability and tread uniformity.
Hankook said the rigid center rib offers grip for improved dry handling and braking performance. The circumferential four-channel wide grooves perform water evacuation for better wet traction, and the optimized sipe design improves comfort and reduces road noise.
The casing features a jointless nylon overlay over twin steel belts.
It launches in 48 sizes, ranging from 175/70R13 to 235/65R17 in both T and H speed ratings, according to data on the company's website. The size range is being evaluated according to market demand, Hankook said.
More than 70 percent of the sizes of the Kinergy ST will be manufactured at Hankook's plant in Clarksville, Tenn., with the rest made at other plants across the world. It became available to Hankook-certified dealers on April 1.
