Front coil springs may cause noise on Nissan SUVs, trucks

Owners of 2008-10 Nissan Armada SUVs and Titan pickup trucks may complain of a pop or clunk from the front suspension when going over ruts, speed bumps and other rough road surfaces at speeds above 10 mph. One likely cause for the noise, reports Nissan, is design flaws in the front coil springs. Installing new-design, upgraded springs should eliminate the noise.

Note that the ride height of the trucks will be approximately one inch lower with the new springs installed. Here are the part numbers for the updated coil springs:

• Armada, 2WD — Part No. 54010-7S002;
• Armada, 4WD — Part No. 54010-7S102;
• Titan, 2WD — Part No. 54010-7S000; and
• Titan, 4WD — Part No. 54010-7S300
