AKRON — BKT Tires USA Inc. has hired Leigh Johnston to be its marketing manager.
According to BKT, the U.S. sales unit of India's Balkrishna Industries Ltd. (BKT), Ms. Johnston will be responsible for all marketing activities including brand building, organizing trade shows and customer events, managing the sponsorship of the Monster Jam series of monster truck competitions, advertising and promotional campaigns.
Ms. Johnson previously worked at Trelleborg Wheel Systems Inc., where she spent the last four years in communications and sales capacities. She also has marketing experience in the insurance industry.
Ms. Johnston graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in journalism and communications.
Rajiv Poddar, joint managing director of BKT, said Ms. Johnston "brings with her a wealth of experience and knowledge of marketing."
