SANTA ANA, Calif. — Yokohama Tire Corp. is sponsoring the 52nd annual Easter Jeep Safari Week, when thousands of off-road enthusiasts traverse the dirt, mud and rocks of off-road trails in Moab, Utah.
The tire maker's Geolander M/T G003 mud-terrain tire will take the spotlight throughout the week at Yokohama's semi-trailer, which will be located in the Red Rock 4-Wheelers Vendor Expo 2018 area.
Easter Jeep Safari Week, which runs March 24-April 1, is organized by the Red Rock 4-Wheelers and welcomes between 25,000 and 35,000 visitors annually. Those participating in the 2018 event, will have the opportunity to drive five Yokohama-sponsored trails:
- Moab Rim (March 27);
- Fins and Things (March 28);
- Flat Iron Mesa (March 28);
- Hell's Revenge (March 29); and
- Seven Mile Rim (March 29).
Fardad Niknam, Yokohama Tire senior director of consumer product planning and product marketing, said it's a "perfect spot to showcase our Geolander line to thousands of passionate, rock-crawling Jeep enthusiasts."
In addition to East Jeep Safari Week, Yokohama also sponsors the 2018 Yokohama NORRA Mexican 1000 and the 2018 Yokohama Sonora Rally, and serves as the official tire of Horsepower Adventures.
It serves as the sponsor and tire supplier for the Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport Pikes Peak Hill Climb Trophy by Yokohama, and is sponsoring the GenRight Off Road Race Team in the 2018 Ultra4 series 4400 Class, while serving as the spec tire of the 2018 TrophyLite R4 Series.
Yokohama also sponsored the SsangYong Motorsport team in the recent Dakar Rally.
