    BETHESDA, Md. — Women in Auto Care and the Automotive Industries Association of Canada (AIA Canada) are organizng the inaugural international women's conference for auto care industry professionals in June in Toronto.

    The 2018 Women's Leadership Conference: Engage to Elevate will take place June 13-14 at the Hyatt Regency Toronto.

    The conference is open to all professionals in the auto care industry, including technicians, shop owners, engineers, business managers and those working in marketing, sales, product management, manufacturing, distribution, wholesale, retail, consulting, media and industry associations.

    According to the two associations, attendees of the Women's Leadership Conference can expect to:

    • Raise their profile by creating relationships with international women and businesses;
    • Gain key resources and training needed to develop personally and professionally; and
    • Sharpen industry skills while earning continuing education units toward their Automotive Aftermarket Professional or Master Automotive Aftermarket Professional certifications.

    "Uniting women globally is very exciting for our organization," said Tammy Tecklenburg, president of Women in Auto Care, which is affiliated with the Auto Care Association.

    "Through the 2018 Women's Leadership Conference, we are aiming to elevate the ideas, insights and influence of women across our industry. We are thrilled to bring our two organizations together and extend our impact across the border."

    "We are proud to continue our longstanding partnership with Women in Auto Care by offering this unique setting for women across North America in the automotive aftermarket to network and develop their leadership abilities, competencies and strengths," said Luciana Nechita, director, public affairs, AIA Canada.

    "This joint conference will create a space to pave the way for women to more effectively drive their careers forward."

    Registration for the conference is now open. The deadline to book hotel rooms at a special rate is May 14.
