The Alliance Agriflex 372 IF 1250/50R32 CFO tire that stands nearly 7 feet tall and more than 4 feet wide.
WAKEFIELD, Mass. — Alliance Tire Americas Inc.'s latest addition to its Agriflex line — the 7-foot tall Agriflex 372 IF — is a testament to the firm's commitment to offering low-pressure solutions for a range of farm applications.
The new tire, the Agriflex 372 IF 1250/50R32 CFO, is designed to minimize soil compaction with increased flexion (IF) sidewall technology, Alliance said, and complements the firm's "ever-growing line of IF, VF and flotation tires."
The tire, which measures more than 4 feet in width, can carry up to 22,480 lbs. at an inflation pressure of 46 psi, which helps reduce yield-limiting compaction that can be caused by combines and grain carts, James Crouch, ATA's agricultural marketing specialist, said.
"The new 1250/50R32 size for the Alliance Agriflex 372 IF reflects not only an impressive manufacturing feat, but also demonstrates Alliance Tire's commitment to offering low-pressure solutions for every application on the farm," Mr. Crouch said.
"With an ever-growing line of IF, VF and flotation tires, Alliance can help farmers protect their fields from soil compaction all season long and on every piece of equipment from the planters, sprayers, combines and grain carts," Mr. Crouch said. "That ensures that a farmer doesn't prevent compaction with his tractor and end up doing damage later with some other tire."
Alliance also has added an IF 1050/50R32 size to the Agriflex 376 lineup.
According to ATA, IF tires offer:
20-percent greater load capacity than standard radials at the same inflation pressure; or
The same load capacity as standard radials at 20-percent lower inflation pressure.
Both of the new tires bear the "CFO" (cyclical field operations) designation that reflects a special design and construction to withstand the cycles of loading and unloading — and shifting weight — experienced during harvest, the tire maker said.
ATA also offers a free paper on soil compaction at atablogs.atgtire.com and Mr. Crouch explains IF and VF technology in an "ATA Tireside Chats" online video.
