WAUKEGAN, Ill. — Atturo Tire Corp. has added an ST trailer tire line to its portfolio in an attempt to tap into what it perceives as a growing market for trailer tires.
The new line, the ST 200, is designed for heavy loads carried at a higher center of gravity, Atturo said. It launches in nine sizes and 16 SKUs, ranging from 145R12 to 235/85R16, with twin steel belts and a nylon overlay.
It features four circumferential channels to help with wet traction and a solid center rib for tracking the tow vehicle on the highway. The interlocking shoulder and inner tread blocks improve traction while also providing a quiet ride. The tire is rated for up to 75 mph.
In launching the ST200, Atturo said it recognized the steady growth in the trailer segment as people buy more boats, campers, motorcycles, ATVs, side-by-sides and other recreational items, in addition to the more commercial-related uses in construction, landscaping, etc.
Atturo describes it as a "natural complement" to its range of light trucks and SUV tires.
The line is sourced from Shandong Mirage Tyres Co. Ltd., a member of the Hengfeng Tyre Group, according to its DOT code.
