NASHVILLE, Tenn. — FCA L.L.C. has selected Bridgestone Dueler and Firestone Destination fitments as OE on four versions of its 2019 Jeep Cherokee, which is debuting in U.S. and Canadian dealers' showrooms in the first quarter.

FCA will equip the Cherokee Overland model with the Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza Plus in size P235/50R19, the Cherokee Latitude and Latitude Plus models with the Firestone Destination LE2 tires in sizes 225/65R17 and 225/60R17 and the Cherokee Trailhawk with Destination A/T in size P245/65R17, according to Nashville-based Bridgestone Americas Inc.

"We are pleased to have tires from both of our industry-leading brands selected as original equipment on the 2019 Jeep Cherokee," said Shannon Quinn, president, original equipment, for Bridgestone's U.S. and Canada Consumer Tire Sales.

"Tires play an important role in vehicle performance, and we have designed our offerings to match the capability and versatility of this newly designed, premium SUV."

The redesigned 2019 Cherokee launches with a choice of three engine options — a 2-liter direct injection, turbocharged inline four-cylinder, a 3.2-liter Pentastar V-6 and a 2.4-liter Tigershark I-4 — mated to a nine-speed transmission, independent front- and rear-suspension systems with "world-class" body torsional stiffness.

The Cherokee comes in five trim configurations: Latitude, Latitude Plus, Limited, Overland and the trail-rated Trailhawk. It's built at FCA's Belvidere Assembly Plant in Belvidere, Ill.

Bridgestone said the Dueler H/L Alenza Plus tire delivers great handling and trusted all-season traction to provide Cherokee drivers with the smooth, quiet highway ride they appreciate.

The Firestone Destination LE2 is engineered to keep up with the adventures of the typical Cherokee owner without sacrificing comfort, Bridgestone said. The Destination A/T tire offers classic white-lettering styling and provides both on-road handling and off-road durability.
