RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. — FCA USA L.L.C. has selected the Falken Wildpeak A/T 3WA as an OE fitment on the 2019 Ram 1500 pickup, including an exclusive fitment on the 4x4 off-road package.

The Ram 1500 will roll of the Sterling Heights, Mich., assembly line with two sizes of the Wildpeak, LT275/65R18C 113/110S and 275/55R20 113T, according to Sumitomo Rubber USA L.L.C., the distributor of the Falken brand in North America.

Sumitomo said these sizes were custom designed and engineered specifically for the Ram 1500 off-road package to meet to FCA's stringent technical requirements.

"The all-terrain, any weather rugged capability of our Falken A/T 3WA will fit the new Ram 1500 perfectly," according to David Colletti, vice president, original equipment, for Sumitomo/Falken.

"Coupling Wildpeak's aggressive sidewall design and tread pattern with the strength of the Ram pickup will enhance its off-road performance as well as its drivability. Falken is excited to play a role as a valued supplier."

Falken said the Wildpeak AT 3WA features an optimized all-weather tread design combined with a silica tread compound to enable it to perform in three key areas — wear, winter conditions and wet performance. Features include Falken's patented 3D "Canyon Sipes" that help maintain consistent performance and appearance throughout the life of the tire.

FCA will offer its "robust" 4x4 Off-Road Package — which includes a one-inch suspension lift, optional four-corner air suspension, an electronic-locking rear differential and 32-inch on/off-road tires on 18- or 20-inch wheels — on nearly every trim level, the car maker said.

Other OE fitments for the Ram 1500 include 18-inch Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrec tires for the Quad Cab configuration, according to FCA.
