LOGAN, Utah — Business management software developer Tire Guru Software has begun integrating Tiremetrix L.L.C.'s Tire Registration Plus and TPMS Manager platforms with its own Business Center products.

"Tire registration is an extremely important safety measure," Tire Guru President Clint Nicholls said, "and Tiremetrix has made the registration process more efficient and accurate through DOT number validation, tire recall and age checks and direct transmission to the responsible manufacturers.

"Tire-registration laws are changing, and Tire Registration Plus helps our dealers with compliance while providing their customers with peace of mind," he added.

The prospect of mandatory tire registration is part of the Fixing America's Surface Transportation (FAST) Act, passed by Congress in 2014 and signed into law by President Obama.

The legislation's primary reason was to authorize $305 billion worth of funding for surface transportation projects through 2019, but it also contains provisions covering multiple aspects of the nation's highway, bridge, mass transit, trucking and vehicle safety systems, including several directly affecting the tire industry, with tire registration provisions topping the list.

Tire Registration Plus allows customers to validate Department of Transportation tire plant identification codes and check for tire age and recalls in a single step.

The platform provides users with an all-brand tire registration form that eliminates the need to visit dozens of tire manufacturer websites, according to Tiremetrix. Users register tires digitally and transmit them securely to the appropriate tire manufacturer.

In the event of a recall, dealers can identify exactly which customers are affected in a matter of seconds, eliminating the inconvenience of over-recalling non-affected customers.

"We are confident that our Tire Registration Plus and TPMS Manager software will provide a tremendous value to Tire Guru customers," Tiremetrix President Joe Donehue said.

"Changing regulatory requirements and advancing technology will continue to challenge independent tire dealers. Our platforms are designed to help dealers overcome these challenges, allowing them to focus on selling products and servicing cars. Our shared goal is greater efficiency and profitability and reduced liability."

TPMS Manager provides users with a digital platform for all TPMS parts and service information, Mr. Donehue added.

"Tire dealers and automotive service providers can quickly identify and service every original equipment and aftermarket tire pressure monitoring system in the market, saving valuable time and reducing comebacks."

Bright, Mich.-based Tiremetrix is a privately owned automotive information software company.

Logan-based Tire Guru Software, Websites and More develops and supports point-of-sale and business management software, ecommerce websites, digital vehicle inspections, etc. for tire dealers, auto repair shops and tire wholesale distributors.
