ORLANDO, Fla. — Tire Group International L.L.C. (TGI) is expanding its domestic coverage area to central Florida with the hiring of a dedicated territory manager for that area.
The move comes a year after Miami-based TGI opened a sales office in Tampa to support business with customers along Florida's Gulf Coast.
"After a successful expansion to Tampa, Clearwater and St. Petersburg, establishing a sales office in Orlando to continue supporting the independent tire dealers and retailers was, naturally, the next step," Willie Kramer, senior vice president, domestics sales for TGI, said.
TGI has hired Jose Maisonet, whom it describes as an experienced sales professional with tire business credentials, to be territory manager for central Florida.
TGI is supplying customers throughout Florida from its warehouse in Miami. The company posted recently on its website it will deliver three times daily to central Florida, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
TGI's primary business is distributing tires throughout Central America and the Caribbean. The company carries more than 40 brands of tires, including its own house brands — Astro, Atlas, Cosmo, Industar, Luna and Orion.
Besides the headquarters in Miami, TGI operates associate offices in Brazil, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru and Venezuela. It also has logistics and quality control offices in China.
