PICO RIVERA, Calif. — The California Tire Dealers Association (CTDA) recognized long-term board member Jay Goldberg recently for his 50-plus years of service to the association.
Mr. Goldberg was instrumental in the merger of the Southern California Tire Dealers Association with its northern counterpart in 2013, and he had been an executive at Globe Tire and Anderson Tire dating back to the 1960s, the CTDA said at its annual luncheon, held Jan. 17 in Pico Rivera.
"I was going to present him with an F78-14 Sears recap in commemoration of the fact that my dad once sorted casings for Jay, but I think we sold it," board member Billy Eordekian said at the event hosted by his company, 1-800EveryRim-OEM Wheels.
The group also recognized Greg Parker of Wegmann Automotive, chairman of the Specialty Equipment Market Association's (SEMA) Wheel & Tire Council (WTC), and Tom Formanek of Stellar Industries, former president of the Tire Industry Association, for their service to the industry.
Nearly 80 guests representing 50 companies attended the event. CTDA President Chris Barry of Independent Tire Dealer Group (ITDG) was the master of ceremonies.
