WAKEFIELD, Mass. — Alliance Tire Americas Inc. (ATA) is developing a series of "tireside" chat vlogs, featuring the company's farm tire expert James Crouch, that will provide farmers with quick tips on farm tire selection, maintenance and operation.
"ATA Tireside Chats provide farmers, custom applicators and machinery operators with the sort of handy, helpful tips that help them get the best possible performance out of their tires and equipment," Mr. Crouch said.
"Some of the segments explain the technology inside a particular type of tire or dig into how tires impact other aspects of success on the farm, like soil compaction. They're not Powerpoint presentations or classroom lectures — each of these segments is short, focused and conversational. Basically, I'm answering questions I get asked all the time, and I'm answering them just like if you and I were talking in the field."
The first five ATA Tireside Chat segments cover a range of topics, from ballasting tires to using a tape measure to determine if a tire is properly inflated. Other topics include managing tires to reduce soil compaction, how to determine the age of a tire from sidewall markings, and the differences among IF, VF and radial tires.
Alliance plans to release Tireside Chats throughout 2018 covering topics such as proper tire storage, how to determine when a tire is worn out, stubble damage, central tire inflation systems, understanding ply ratings, etc.
"Tires are a very technical product, and they have a huge impact on productivity around the farm," Mr. Crouch said. "Ultimately, having good information is important to getting good tires and using them well. The ATA Tireside Chats are another way for us to share information that will help farmers increase their productivity and profitability."
All ATA Tireside Chat segments are available on the company's Facebook page and its YouTube channel.
