GURGAON, India — Great Places to Work Institute recently listed Apollo Tyres Ltd. among India's Best Workplaces in Manufacturing 2018, citing its transparency in performance management processes and employee development programs as contributing factors in the honor.
Apollo said it was ranked among the top 10 workplaces in the manufacturing segment in India.
More than 106 Indian manufacturing companies participated in the most recent Great Places to Work Institute survey. More than 37,000 employees provided feedback to help with the rankings, which helped to influence the rankings, according to Apollo.
"I would like to congratulate all Apolloites for securing this prestigious recognition," Satish Sharma, president, Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa (APMEA), Apollo Tyres, said in a statement.
"This ranking betters our previously secured top positions in the Auto Components space. Guided by our core value of 'One Family', the work on people agenda is a continuum at Apollo Tyres, and is always accorded top priority."
Apollo operates four manufacturing facilities in India and recently began construction on the fifth, a $280 million passenger tire plant in Chinnapanduru Village that should come on stream by mid-2020.
Apollo is considered India's second largest tire maker and ranks 17th worldwide, according to Tire Business' annual Global Top 75 ranking, which is based on the firm's fiscal 2017 sales of $1.94 billion.
