WASHINGTON — The Automotive Service Association (ASA) is urging its Missouri members to contact their state legislators to oppose Missouri House Bill 1444, a bill that would repeal periodic vehicle safety inspections in the state.
"Missouri and other state studies have shown the value of these vehicle safety inspection programs in terms of saving lives, preventing injuries and damage to property," the ASA said.
The ASA hosted a safety inspection forum in St. Louis in 2015, featuring experts from all segments of the automotive industry to draw attention to the importance of vehicle safety inspections, the ASA said.
The association asked its members and other interested parties in Missouri to go to TakingTheHill.com, its legislative website, to click "Alerts" and contact their state representatives in opposition to H.B. 1444.
