The Fast Orange Grime Magnet was designed specially to absorb spilled oil and still be able to clean surfaces of any residual mess.

LAS VEGAS — Permatex, a division of Illinois Tool Works Inc., has debuted Fast Orange Grime Magnet, a soap-infused sponge that absorbs oil and other petroleum products from vehicle surfaces, garage floors, shop tools and hands and arms.

The Fast Orange Grime Magnet was designed specially to absorb spilled oil and still be able to clean surfaces of any residual mess, the company said. Infused with Fast Orange pumice hand cleaner, the Fast Orange Grime Magnet also can be used to clean oil and petroleum products on hands and arms. It works with or without water.

The sponge can absorb 14 times its weight in petroleum products, while repelling water, the company claims.

This ensures that oil and grease remain trapped in the sponge and won’t rub back on to surfaces or the user.

Since it repels water, the sponge does not collect mildew or mold, so it can be used numerous times, Permatex said.
