LIVERPOOL, England — Liverpool Football Club recently presented Falken Tyre Europe executives with an honorary Liverpool FC game jersey in recognition of Falken's sponsorship of the club.
Sumitomo Rubber Industries Ltd.'s Falken brand signed a multi-year deal this summer with the U.K. soccer club to become the team's official tire partner.
The jersey presentation took place before Liverpool's Nov. 25 match with Chelsea FC at the club's Anfield Stadium in Liverpool. Falken also sponsored the match, which allowed it to have its branding displayed prominently around the venue, according to the tire maker. The game ended in a 1-1 draw.
Falken said the brands will work together "to create unique experiences for fans and customers alike, while opening further growth opportunities in Falken's key global markets."
Billy Hogan, chief commercial officer and managing director at Liverpool FC, said, "(Falken's) ambitious attitude and focus on high-performance has a great brand synergy with the (Liverpool), and we are excited to be working together on a variety of new and innovative projects."
Markus Bögner, COO of Falken Tyre Europe, said the company is "very much looking forward to collaborating with one of football's powerhouses to create...a range of exciting experiences and opportunities for our U.K. dealers."
