DULUTH, Minn. — Fitment Group and Size It Up, independent providers of tire and wheel fitment data, are planning to merge under the Fitment Group brand.

Duluth-based Fitment Group said the companies' combined data sets cover 148,000 vehicles from current models back to those from the 1930s. The company provides information on original equipment, OE optional, plus sizing, winter sizing, tire and wheel packages, etc.

The firms' data sets are powered by a vehicle list powered by the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association's Aftermarket Catalog Exchange Standard (ACES), Fitment Group said, which assists with integration into other ACES-based point-of-sale, enterprise-resource planning and Web sites.

The expanded business will be based in Duluth, but Size It Up founder Brian Inge and select other staff will remain in Woodbridge, Va.

The value of the merger is not being disclosed.

JP Brooks, director of business development for Fitment Group, said adding Size It Up will "greatly increase the level of expertise and intimate industry knowledge to Fitment Group as a whole."

Mr. Inge said the merger "was prompted our mutual goal of providing the industry with the most comprehensive and accurate data available. The advantages will be the merger of two strong data sets, additional development staff and more engineers analyzing the data."

As for how Fitment Group's and Size It Up's respective products complement each other, Mr. Inge said Fitment Group's data are very strong in the mass market segment, whereas Size It Up offered some tolerances to more of the exotic fitments and lifted and lowered applications.

Size It Up was founded in 2002 and has focused primarily on tire and wheel fitment data, engineering and analysis.

Fitment Group was founded in 1998 by Tiegen Fryberger and provides tire demand planning, tire pricing analytics, tire catalog data along with tire and wheel fitment data.
