LAS VEGAS — China's Hangzhou Zhongce Rubber Co. Ltd. has developed a cloud-based "smart tire system" for truck owners and trucking fleets to help them manage their tire maintenance remotely.
The company's U.S. subsidiary, ZC Rubber Americas Inc., debuted the system at the recent Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas, where company executives said the system is not yet commercially available.
The product — dubbed "Arisun Smart Tire System" — is a cloud-based tire life-cycle management platform that enables truck owners and fleet managers to make the right decision for tire maintenance.
The system uses a sensor attached to the tire innerliner that transmits real-time data on tire temperature and pressure and axle position together with the vehicle's position. The data can be read by the driver or remotely, ZC Rubber said.
"We believe that it is the trend to manage the tires and fleets efficiently based on the data analysis in the future," the company said.
ZC Rubber said it's been testing the system in the U.S. and intends to introduce it other global markets, including Europe, Asia, Africa and South America. according to local demand.
