NASHVILLE, Tenn. — One hundred days before the opening of the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018, Bridgestone Americas Inc. is unveiling its "Clutch Performance" advertising campaign featuring athletes from Team Bridgestone, the Nashville-based tire maker said.
Bridgestone launched the campaign Oct. 22 with "Winning Performance," a television commercial featuring Olympic Bronze Medalist figure skater Ashley Wagner.
The commercial shows Ms. Wagner going for a spin off the ice to demonstrate the crisp handling and response of Bridgestone Potenza ultra-high-performance all-season tires, according to Bridgestone.
The "Clutch Performance" campaign will continue in November with an immersive digital brand experience at BridgestoneTire.com/performanceinstitute, featuring the full Team Bridgestone athlete roster, the tire maker said
Besides Ms. Wagner, Team Bridgestone members include Nathan Chen (figure skating), Amy Purdy (para-snowboarding), Evan Strong (para-snowboarding) and Elana Meyers Taylor (bobsled).
A series of videos will profile Team Bridgestone and highlight how these athletes — like Bridgestone tires — consistently step up to deliver top performance in the clutch, the company said.
Team Bridgestone athletes will be featured throughout the company's dealer and retail store networks on promotional materials designed to engage consumers throughout the Winter Games, it said.
Ms. Wagner will also headline a retail-based promotion starting in December that will offer fans a chance to meet Team Bridgestone, the company said. An additional Olympic-themed commercial featuring bobsled athletes from Team USA also is planned for early 2018, it said.
Bridgestone signed on as a Worldwide TOP Partner of the International Olympic Committee in June 2014, according to Bridgestone. It was the first Founding Partner of the Olympic Channel, it said. It is a partner of the U.S. Olympic Committee and U.S. Paralympics through 2024, and of U.S. Figure Skating through 2018, it said.
