LAS VEGAS — Importer/wholesaler Horizon Tire Inc. is expanding its Supermax brand to include passenger and light truck tires, starting with the Supermax Touring TM-1, an all-season touring tire.
Horizon launched the SuperMax truck, off-road and specialty tire line several years ago and continues to maintain and expand offerings in those categories as well, the firm said at the 2017 Specialty Equipment Market Association Show in Las Vegas.
The new passenger line is being produced in Thailand by Vee Rubber Co. Ltd., Horizon said, allowing it to be priced competitively in the marketplace. The company said it plans to add high-performance and light truck SKUs in the coming year.
Horizon offers the Touring TM-1 with a UTQG rating of 600 AA on most sizes and said it is available in 32 sizes, with 10 more being added before year-end. Sizing starts at 175/70R13 and runs up to 245/45R18, in T- and V-speed ratings.
Horizon offers a 45,000-mile limited treadwear on the TM-1.
Irwindale, Calif.-based Horizon Tire also handles the Antares, Grenlander, Rydanz and Sotera brands. Supermax is its own proprietary brand.
