LAS VEGAS — Custom wheel maker Advance One Wheels Inc. (ADV.1) is launching its first carbon-fiber wheel, the ADV7.2 CF.2 Advanced Series, in partnership with British carbon-fiber specialists Dymag Group.
The CF.2 design combines ADV.1's aerospace-grade 6061 forged aluminium center with a Boxstrom carbon-fiber hybrid barrel from Dymag, ADV.1 said, joined together with lightweight Tikore titanium hardware.
ADV.1 claims the new wheel is up to 40-percent lighter than OEM cast aluminum wheels, with a corresponding 40-percent lower moment of inertia. This can result in faster acceleration, sharper braking and improved handling.
The ADV.1 CF.2 wheel is a custom fitment on the 2018 Ford GT.
"The ADV.1 CF.2 is just the latest example of ADV.1 redefining the limits of design and performance," said ADV.1 Chairman Henrique Cisneros. He added that the CF.2 is an example of his company "redefining the limits of design and performance."
The ADV.1 Carbon Fiber.2 wheel will be available in early 2018. Pricing information was not disclosed.
Miami-based ADV.1 is owned by Cisneros Corp., which also owns Weld Racing and is the global purveyor of the Momo wheel, tire and steering wheel brand.
