KOBE, Japan — Subaru Corp. has selected an 18-inch version of the Falken Ziex ZE001 A/S all-season performance tire as an OE fitment on the Limited edition of the redesigned 2018 Crosstrek, which debuted recently in North America.
Falken-brand owner Sumitomo Rubber Industries Ltd. said the all-season ZE001 is well-suited to "draw out the full performance potential" of the new Crosstrek, a four-door, four-passenger crossover hatchback.
The Falken fitment spec'd is 225/55R18 98H, which Subaru lists as the size for the Crosstreck Limited edition. The standard fitment is listed as 225/60R17 98H. Both are mounted to alloy wheels.
The tire features an asymmetrical tread pattern that helps optimize tread rigidity balanced high performance in terms of both steering stability and riding comfort, Sumitomo said.
The more spacious 2018 Crosstrek is the second vehicle built with Subaru's "Dynamic x Solid" design language. The Limited edition is powered by 152-hp, 2-liter 4-cylinder Boxer engine and equipped with Subaru's Lineartronic continuously variable transmission with 7-speed manual shift mode and an array of in-cabin electronics.
