WD-40/SEMA Cares Boosted Bronco will debut at WD-40's booth at this year's SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

SAN DIEGO — WD-40 Co. once again has sponsored the restoration of a classic vehicle — this time a 1966 Ford Bronco — that will be auctioned off later this year to support a number of Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) charitable endeavors.

Calling the 1966 Ford Bronco an "iconic, cult classic vehicle," custom car builder Aaron Vaccar said the WD-40/SEMA Cares Boosted Bronco is "modern, one-of-a-kind version" of vehicle. It will debut at WD-40's booth at this year's SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

Mr. Vaccar — founder/owner of Aaron Vaccar Co. — lauded WD-40 for its support of the project, which will provide funding for SEMA Cares, Childhelp and the SEMA Memorial Scholarship Fund.

The WD-40/SEMA Cares Boosted Bronco retains its original four-wheel drive layout but gets a modern spin with a twin-turbo V6 EcoBoost drivetrain, hand-built 20-inch Detroit Steel Wheels mounted with General Grabber X3 radials, Diode Dynamics Bi-LED round headlights and Distinctive Industries touring seats and upholstery.

The vehicle's look is enhanced with a WD-40-themed blue, yellow and black matte-metallic paint.

WD-40's booth at SEMA — in the outdoor display area by the Las Vegas Convention Center's South Hall — will resemble an auto repair garage, where visitors can view the Boosted Bronco and get the lowdown on WD-40's entire product range of rust-release lubricants, multi-purpose grease, degreasers, etc.

The WD-40/SEMA Cares Boosted Bronco will be auctioned at a Barrett-Jackson Auction later. Previous WD-40/SEMA builds have generated an average of more than $110,000 a year donated to the charities and earned an average of 7 million media impressions, SEMA said.

Other suppliers that contributed to the project include: AIRAID; AMSOIL Inc.; AutoMeter Products Inc.; B&M Racing & Performance Inc.; BASF Corp.; Baumann Electronic Controls, Blood & Grease; Detroit Steel Wheel Co. Inc.; Diode Dynamics L.L.C.; Flowmaster Mufflers; General Tire; Grip Royal L.L.C.; Mishimoto Automotive; P.O.R. Products; The Club, VMS Racing; and XS Power.
