SAN DIEGO — WD-40 Co. once again has sponsored the restoration of a classic vehicle — this time a 1966 Ford Bronco — that will be auctioned off later this year to support a number of Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) charitable endeavors.
Calling the 1966 Ford Bronco an "iconic, cult classic vehicle," custom car builder Aaron Vaccar said the WD-40/SEMA Cares Boosted Bronco is "modern, one-of-a-kind version" of vehicle. It will debut at WD-40's booth at this year's SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
Mr. Vaccar — founder/owner of Aaron Vaccar Co. — lauded WD-40 for its support of the project, which will provide funding for SEMA Cares, Childhelp and the SEMA Memorial Scholarship Fund.
The WD-40/SEMA Cares Boosted Bronco retains its original four-wheel drive layout but gets a modern spin with a twin-turbo V6 EcoBoost drivetrain, hand-built 20-inch Detroit Steel Wheels mounted with General Grabber X3 radials, Diode Dynamics Bi-LED round headlights and Distinctive Industries touring seats and upholstery.
