CYPRESS, Calif. — Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. is launching a second-generation of its value-segment Extensa all-season high-performance tire line, the Extensa HP II, with improved all-season traction and wet braking.
The Extensa HP II launches with more than 50 sizes, in 15- to 20-inch rim diameters and V and W speed ratings, and is backed by a 45,000-mile limited treadwear warranty and Toyo's "No Regrets" 45 day/500-mile trial offer.
The original Extensa A/S launched in 2009 as Toyo's value-segment all season tire for passenger cars and minivans.
Randy Gaetz, Toyo's senior vice president of sales, called the Extensa HP II the "go-to tire for value-minded car owners needing to replace high-performance tires."
Toyo claims the new version, aided by a special silica-based tread compound combined with a directional tread design, stops up to 31 feet shorter in wet conditions than its predecessor.
Other features include single- and double-cut tapers in the tread blocks and full depth multi-wave sipes that help minimize irregular wear for a quiet ride and improved light snow traction.
Toyo did not disclose pricing information.
