MADISON, Ala. — Discount Tire/America's Tire has opened its first store in Alabama, in the Huntsville suburb of Madison, expanding its reach to 34 states.
The six-bay store is located on U.S. 72 West on the south side of Madison, a city of 48,000 just west of Huntsville, Ala., and close to the Huntsville International Airport.
The store is the dealership's 27th new location to open in the past 11 months. Among those is the first Discount Tire outlet in Louisiana, in Prairieville.
These openings — in 15 states — expand the Discount Tire network of stores to 950 locations in 34 states, the company said.
Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Discount Tire did not disclose the size or number of employees at the new stores. Discount Tire stores typically run about 7,000-plus square feet with six service bays.
Discount Tire does not disclose its investment in new stores.
The store offers Discount Tire's standard selection of major tire brands, including Michelin, Goodyear, Bridgestone, BFGoodrich, Pirelli, Falken, Continental and Cooper, along with its own private brands, including Arizonian, Road Hugger and Pathfinder.
