ORLANDO, Fla. — Mitchell Repair Information Co. L.L.C. has awarded FedEx Freight technician Mark McLean, the grand champion of Technology & Maintenance Council's (TMC) SuperTech 2017 National Technician Skills Competition, with a year's subscription to its TruckSeries software.
The event was part of the American Trucking Associations TMC conference held Sept. 16-21 at the Marriott Orlando World Center in Orlando.
Mr. McLean, of Montgomery, N.Y., won the skills competition for the third time in five years.
Mitchell said it awarded Mr. McLean with a subscription to its Mitchell 1 TruckSeries product that will allow him to access all of Mitchell 1's online truck repair software for Class 4-8 trucks for a full year.
"Being the SuperTech grand champion for an unprecedented third time is a remarkable achievement. Mark's skills clearly put him in the upper echelon of fleet maintenance professionals, and we are pleased to recognize his accomplishment with a complimentary subscription to TruckSeries," said Kristy LaPage, business manager for Mitchell 1's commercial vehicle group.
TruckSeries, Mitchell 1's suite of software for the trucking industry, is used for testing at the service information station each year at SuperTech.
Mitchell 1 has been a sponsor of the SuperTech national competition since its inception 13 years ago. Each year Mitchell 1 has run the Service Information skills station, testing competitors on their ability to use computers and web-based programs to diagnose and fix vehicles properly.
In addition to involvement at the national level, Mitchell 1 also supports and participates in many state technician skills competitions.
