MACEDONIA, Ohio — Wheel distributor Blackburn OEM Wheel Solutions Inc. has added a third building to its operations.
The Macedonia-based company has purchased a building in Streetsboro, Ohio, providing additional warehouse space and shipping and receiving docks.
The wheel distributor plans to occupy 35,000 to 40,000 square feet of the acquired building's space. Other occupants of the building will stay in the rest of the building, Blackburn said.
The cost of the purchase was not disclosed. The firm has two buildings in Macedonia, one of which houses the corporate office.
"Purchasing an additional facility enables us to process incoming product at a quicker pace with increased efficiencies," said Jimmy Blackburn, the firm's co-owner. "This will allow us to reduce the cycle time necessary to add new product to our live inventory system, which ultimately leads to greater customer satisfaction."
According to a Blackburn official, the company has completed some cosmetic renovations and landscaping at the site and has plans to do more.
In January 2016, Blackburn acquired a facility in Macedonia, which provided additional office and warehouse space. That building offers ready access to Interstates 80, 480 and 271.
The company, founded in 1983, claims to be the largest privately held original equipment wheel, wheel cover, and center cap distributor in the U.S.
