WASHINGTON — Hankook Tire America Corp. has joined the U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association (USTMA) as its 11th domestic tire manufacturing member, the association has announced.
With the recent opening of its tire manufacturing facility in Clarksville, Tenn., Hankook became eligible for USTMA membership, according to an Oct. 4 press release.
Hankook's U.S. headquarters are in Nashville.
USTMA President and CEO Anne Forristall Luke said the organization is excited to have Hankook as a member.
"Hankook's investment in the United States is a testament to opportunities for growth and prosperity in the U.S. tire manufacturing industry," Ms. Luke said.
Hosung Suh, president of Hankook Tire America, said his company is enthusiastic about participating in the USTMA.
"We appreciate the opportunity to add our voice to the U.S. tire manufacturing community through USTMA," Mr. Suh said.
Hankook joins the following companies as a USTMA member: Bridgestone Americas Inc., Continental Tire the Americas L.L.C., Cooper Tire & Rubber Co., Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., Kumho Tire U.S.A., Michelin North America Inc., Pirelli Tire North America, Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Toyo Tire Holdings of Americas Inc., and Yokohama Tire Corp.
