WASHINGTON — President Trump plans to nominate Raymond Martinez, chairman and chief administrator of the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission, to be administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
Mr. Martinez also is a member of the New Jersey State Planning Commission.
Previously, he was the New York State Commissioner of Motor Vehicles, chairman of the New York Governor's Traffic Safety Committee and deputy chief of staff and special counsel to the New York State Attorney General, the White House said.
The FMCSA is the lead federal government agency responsible for regulating and providing safety oversight of commercial motor vehicles. its mission is to reduce crashes, injuries, and fatalities involving large trucks and buses.
