    TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. — International tire distributor Omni United (S) Pte. Ltd. is teaming with professional golfer Jodi Ewart Shadoff to raise money for breast cancer research.

    Omni United and Ms. Shadoff, who is the brand ambassador for Omni United's Radar Tires brand, will donate $100 each to Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) for every birdie Ms. Shadoff shoots during Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) tournaments in October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness month.

    This is the latest in a series of fund-raising activities for breast cancer causes that Omni United has participated in over the past six years, raising more than $1.1 million.

    Omni United and Ms. Shadoff are making their pledge through the Play for P.I.N.K. initiative, a grassroots organization dedicated to raising funds for breast cancer research through sporting and lifestyle events.

    Ms. Shadoff also will wear pink gear and use a specially designed pink golf bag featuring Radar Tires and BCRF logos.

    The tournaments she's scheduled to play are: Sept. 28-Oct.1, McKayson New Zealand Women's Open, Auckland, New Zealand; Oct. 19-22, Swinging Skirts LPGA Taiwan Championship, Taipei, Taiwan; and Oct. 26-29, Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

    Omni United is encouraging other companies and individuals to pledge an amount for every birdie that Ms. Shadoff makes during the month of October.

    To make a pledge and/or a one time donation, go to https://pledgeit.org/birdies-for-bcrf.

    The program is being run through BCRF's partner organization, Play for P.I.N.K., which donates 100 percent of all proceeds to BCRF. According to the foundation, the Play for P.I.N.K. initiative has raised nearly $50 million and encompasses 300 tournaments across 30 states, with more than 30,000 golfers involved.

    "In addition to wearing pink during the month, I am hoping to go above my average of 20 birdies per tournament and make as many birdies as I can during October, to raise lots of funds for the BCRF," Ms. Shadoff said. "I hope others will engage in this challenge and join us as well."

    BCRF President and CEO Myra Biblowit said she appreciates Omni United's and Radar Tires' commitment to the cause that "has helped fund critical research and touched lives in many ways."

    "Breast cancer is a cause that has been close to our heart, and we will continue to contribute and support the mission of BCRF and the great work they do," said GS Sareen, founder and CEO of Omini United. "I would like to invite our partners, customers and the public in general to join us in this initiative and pledge along us."

    This marks the sixth straight year that Omni United has supported BCRF, and the campaign has raised more than $1.1 million for breast cancer research.

    Among the initiatives Omni United and Radar Tires have taken on include:

    • Launching a limited-edition pink sidewall tire;
    • Encouraging customers, tire distributors, dealers and retailers globally to support the "Mobilizing Hope" campaign by providing in-store displays, pink ribbons and other awareness materials to distribute;
    • Displaying the logo of the BCRF on all Radar Tires motorsports team's racing cars and gear;
    • Supporting BCRF in all international tire fairs and other events in which Omni United and Radar Tires participates;
    • Launching awareness-related programs with Ms. Shadoff, especially during Breast Cancer Awareness month.

    Ms. Shadoff has been Radar Tires' brand ambassador since April 2016. Last year, she supported the BCRF by wearing pink gear and had a specially designed pink golf bag to increase the visibility of the organization.
