STUARTS DRAFT, Va. — Since 1949, when Eddie Eavers opened his gas station in Stuarts Draft, the Eavers family has been a friendly and welcoming business presence in the town and the region.
Over the years, the Eavers' holdings have grown to include a classic car museum and a bulk foods grocery/cheese shop.
Their core business, however, is their passenger and light truck tire business. That business started as part of the gas station; expanded into a separate store in 2000, two doors down from the gas station; expanded further into a second store in Fishersville, Va., late in 2005; and became known as Eavers Tire Pros when it joined American Tire Distributors Inc.'s dealer cooperative in 2009.
"We take pride in serving you with a simple, professional and hassle-free tire and automotive experience," Eavers Tire Pros says on its website, and judging from its reviews on its website, it lives up to that pledge. Of 696 reviews, 87 percent give the dealership five stars out of five, while another 9 percent give it four stars.
Eavers Tire Pros is a true family business. "Petie" Eavers, Eddie's son, is president; Gary Eavers Sr., Petie's son, is vice president; Gary Eavers Jr. is director of operations; and Heather Corbin, Gary Jr.'s sister, is director of marketing and office manager.
Tire Pros has been a good fit for the Eavers family, according to Gary Eavers Jr.
