GREENVILLE, S.C. — Michelin North America Inc.'s BF Goodrich brand has signed a multi-year agreement to extend its partnership with SCORE International desert racing.
BF Goodrich tires will remain the official tire of SCORE International and the SCORE World Desert Championship. In addition, BF Goodrich will be the title sponsor of this year's SCORE Baja 1000, the 50th anniversary of what organizers say is the world's greatest desert race.
BF Goodrich also will be the No. 1 sponsor of the 2018 SCORE Baja 500.
"BF Goodrich's position as a leader in the off-road culture and desert-racing discipline is a result of the commitment to product development in Baja and the right partnerships that have enabled that success," said Chris Baker, motorsports director of BF Goodrich and Michelin North America.
Mr. Baker said the company's commitment to motorsports, is critical to its brand. "... SCORE has fostered a competitive environment that allows brands like ours to learn and prove our capabilities."
Since 1976, BF Goodrich said it has more overall and class wins in SCORE Baja racing than any other tire manufacturer, claiming the overall win for more than 70 percent of these races.
