Some 2012 Toyota Sequoia and Tundra trucks with 3UR-FE and 3UR-FBE engines may turn on the MIL and log trouble code P2440 and/or P2442 (air injection switching valve stuck open, Bank 1 or 2) in computer memory.
According to Toyota, the condition only occurs in colder ambient temperatures, and is due to ice crystals in the air switching valve preventing the valve from closing. Reprogramming the PCM with updated software is the only way to get the air injection system operating properly again. Check with a dealer for the specifics.
