DALLAS — For the second time this year, Pirelli Tire North America (PTNA) is working with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) to raise awareness for MADD's efforts to keep the nation's roads safe from drunk driving.
Pirelli is hoping to entice potential customers to donate to MADD by offering a $60 rebate on sets of Scorpion SUV/crossover/light truck tires purchased through Oct. 2. Pirelli will donate $5 to MADD for every set sold and will encourage customers to match that donation.
"We are proud to support MADD, whose lifesaving mission aligns with our motto, 'Power is Nothing without Control,'" PTNA CEO and Chairman Pierluigi Dinelli said. "Pirelli is committed to roadway safety, and we look forward to assisting MADD's efforts by providing safe tires and promoting driver safety."
Pirelli ran a similar offer in June and July on sets of PZero, Scorpion, Cinturato, P4, P6 and winter tire lines.
"With the number of drunk driving deaths increasing over the past couple of years, we are proud to partner with a company that is dedicated to turning this trend around," said Colleen Sheehey-Church, MADD National President, whose 18-year-old son Dustin was killed in an underage drunk and drugged driving crash.
"We are grateful that Pirelli stands with us to protect innocent lives."
