BOWIE, Md. — The Tire Industry Association (TIA) will host Automotive Tire Service (ATS) instructor classes in Louisville, Ky., Oct. 10-13.
The four-day ATS program is a 300- and 400-level certification program open to all professional passenger and light truck tire technicians, TIA said. It provides in-depth and comprehensive instruction on recommended procedures for servicing modern passenger and light truck tires.
Subjects in the ATS program range from the relationship between torque and clamping force to the TPMS relearn procedures on domestic and import vehicles.
The course also includes an extensive module on Tire Conditions Analysis to educate technicians on the most likely reasons for common irregular tread wear patterns.
The first three days of training will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the final day will run from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The exact location of the seminar will be emailed to all participants, TIA said.
