TAMPA, Fla. — Bolt On Technology and RNR Tire Express & Custom Wheels are considered to be among the nation's 5,000 fastest-growing companies, according to Inc. magazine's 36th annual Inc. 5000 ranking.

Companies are ranked according to the growth percentage of their annual revenue over a three-year period.

Automotive aftermarket software developer Bolt On Technology is listed at No. 1,079 while rent-to-own tire/wheel business franchisor RNR Tire is at No. 4,533. This is RNR's third time making the list and Bolt On's second, the companies said.

"Of tens of thousands of companies that have applied to the Inc 5000 over the years, only a small fraction have made the list more than once," said Eric Schurenberg, president and editor-in-chief of Inc Media. "A mere one in three have made the list two times."

On average, awarded companies have grown sixfold since 2013, Inc. said. By comparison, the U.S. economy grew only 6.7 percent over the same period.

Bolt On CEO Michael Risich said he and his team "are truly humbled" to make the Inc. 5000 list.

"Since our launch in 2009, Bolt On Technology has strived to be an innovative force in a traditional industry. I am not only very proud of the growth and success that the company has seen since last year, but also the transformation the automotive industry is beginning to see with the advancement of technology in the auto repair shop."

Bolt On has achieved a three-year sales growth of 391 percent, reporting $4.5 million in 2016 revenue.

RNR Tire Express President Larry Sutton said, "Our continuous growth is directly related to two things — the hard work and determination of our franchisees and our offering of quality products and services at an affordable price."

RNR's growth was 53.6 percent, according to Inc., with 2016 revenue of $3.2 million.

Founded in 2000 by Mr. Sutton, a rent-to-own industry veteran, RNR's network has grown to 100 locations in 22 states operated by 19 franchisees.

Earlier, RNR was singled out by Entrepreneur magazine as its best franchise in the wheels/tires category.
