Vipal promotes retreading at Spain conference

NOVA PRATA, RIO GRANDE DO SUL, Brazil — Brazilian retread materials producer Borrachas Vipal S/A recently participated in the 7th Technical Conference of the Spanish Association of Recycled Tyres (AER) to promote the importance of sustainability through retreading.

The event was held in June held in the city of Segovia, Castilla-Leon region, Spain. The company said the conference, which also brought together some of its local customers, served to reinforce its strategic role within the European tire retreading market.

The AER event's theme was “Rebuild, Recycle, Future and Economy,” with a series of debates held that reinforced “the importance of retreading to the economy,” according to Vipal, the conference's main sponsor.

Some of the company's customers present during the two-day event included Insa Turbo, Fedima, Redigal and Muralla, with the Vipal team represented by Frederico Schimdt, general manager, and Fabrício Nedeff, commercial coordinator.

The company described the AER as a sectoral organization that brings together companies dedicated to the manufacturing and marketing of retreaded tires. Established in May 1996, the association encompasses “the most representative companies in Spain,” with 47 associates and 10 collaborators, Vipal said, noting it has been a member since 2007.

Vipal told conference participants it “believes that joining the retread tire industry is essential if we are to overcome the obstacles of the economy and grow stronger together in this segment.”

Vipal was founded in 1973 in Nova Prata, Rio Grande do Sul. It has some 3,000 employees and operates two plants in Nova Prata and one in Feira de Santana in Bahia, totaling about 160,000 square meters of manufacturing facilities, along with three distributions centers in Brazil.

 The company exports to all continents through distribution centers in South America, North America, Europe and Oceania.
