TRELLEBORG, Sweden — Trelleborg Wheels Systems Americas Inc. is implementing a price increase of up to 8 percent for its agricultural, forestry, industrial and construction pneumatic tires in North America.
The increase goes into effect Sept. 1 on all tire brands in its product portfolio.
The company said in a news release that the increase comes as a response to higher raw materials costs.
This marks the third price increase of the year for Trelleborg. The tire maker raised prices on its industrial and construction products in the U.S. by an average of 7 percent, effective May 1. Increasing prices of raw materials also was cited for the reason.
Trelleborg only recently expanded its industrial/construction product range by adding pneumatic products to the business' solid tire portfolio.
Trelleborg also initiated a price hike in early March for its farm and forestry tires.
